Votronic solar controllers of the series "MPP" (Maximum-Power-Point) with "IU1oU2" charging characteristic are connected as a link between solar panel(s) and battery(ies). With MPP technology, the controller continuously and automatically determines the maximum power point (MPP) of the solar panels several times per second. It then transforms the excess voltage of the solar module to a higher charging current for the battery (realized by high frequency switching controller technology with high efficiency). This charging current gain ensures shorter charging times and the best possible power utilization of the solar system. The MPP solar controllers are fully automatic, maintenance free and offer the following functions: MPP charge current increase compared to conventional controllers by 10% to 30% (efficiency > 95%) due to the use of the latest controller technology (microprocessor). The increase in performance is particularly noticeable during the cooler seasons and, for example, during periods of high snow, low and diffuse lighting (hibernation). For charging lead-gel, lead-AGM, lead-acid batteries or LiFePO4 complete batteries (with integrated BMS, balancing, safety circuit and approval!) of the specified nominal voltages and the co-supply of consumers connected to these batteries in permanently installed systems with the specified battery capacities and charging programs. The charging voltage is free of peaks and regulated in such a way that overcharging of the batteries is excluded. SmartSolar Charge Regulator MPPT   Ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) Especially in overcast conditions when light intensity is constantly changing, an ultra-fast MPPT controller improves energy output by up to 30% compared to PWM charge controllers and by up to 10% compared to slower MPPT controllers. Load output Battery overcharging can be prevented by connecting all loads to the load output. The load output disconnects the loads when the battery has been discharged to a preset voltage value. Alternatively, an intelligent battery management algorithm can be selected: see BatteryLife. The load output is short-circuit proof. Battery Life: intelligent battery management If the solar charge controller is not able to charge the battery to its full capacity within one day, the battery status will constantly alternate between "partially charged" and "end of discharge". This mode of operation (no regular full charge) will damage a lead-acid battery within a few weeks or months. The BatteryLife algorithm monitors the state of charge of the battery and if necessary, day by day, it raises the threshold for disconnecting the load (i.e., the load is disconnected earlier) until the energy gained is sufficient to charge the battery to near 100%. From this point on, the load disconnect threshold is modulated so that charging to near 100% is achieved about once a week. Built-in Bluetooth Smart: No dongle needed. In this mode, when operating in inverter mode, the multi will turn off at zero load or when only a light load is present and turn back on for a short period every two seconds.
